We still didn't get away early today, I think it was about 10 when we left. It is a 3 hour drive from here. We had ummed and ahhed over whether we went or not. But we really wanted to see hot springs. After failing at it yesterday we where slightly more determined and if we where going to make the effort we decide to see the 'best' natural ones. So we did know it was going to rain today. Daz had been telling us all week that it was going to rain on wed. He read an accurate weather forcast apparently. Rain it did it did bucket down all day. Driving the first 2 hours on the highway was fine the last hour on the mountain tops with their winding roads was a little more challenging. Sammy Lee suffers from car sickness alittle and those roads made me feel ill. Well since it was raining lots when we got there we though a long lunch was on the cards while we waited and hoped the rain pinged off. Lunch was at a lovely fancy little resturaunt. A little pricey 170 euro for the 4 of us... I only had 2 glasses of house white. But we had an entree which we shared and then we all had desert... still stalling because the rain got even harder. I had the crispy pork which was yummy a funny cut though.. it was very bony.?? Boyd had grilled sausage... I don't think it was he had in mind. We all had roast potatos in rosemary.. yummy. DAz had the casket of veal, veal stuffed with cheese and mushrooms. he said it was the best meal he has had hands down!! We left there and since it was still raining we ran across the road for a coffee... Well a little while later and it was still raining so Daz went off and got the car. He was swimming no matter what since he drove 3 hours. We drove down there and it was packed, pouring rain and cars everywhere a one way street that had cars trying to go everywhich way.. oh dear.. We got into the 'secret' carpark i say secret because most ppl got to the bottom of the hill and thought they had to turn around and go back if there was no parks.. there is a small path that a car just fits through that leads to the parking in the field. We did that. Did i mention Sam and I got changed in the back of the car as we drove down..... fun, scary. Out we go and we do the run to the falls and pools. IT is PACKED I stole a picture off the internet because it looks prettier than the one I got. But we had even more ppl than that picture!! you don't really notice the rain when you are in there because the steam and the splashing from the pools above you and the waterfall hides it. But the smell ugh sulpher nearly kept us out, but we came so far and dang it, its a new experience. What did i learn today?> If it smells bad don't bathe in it!! I really felt like i was bathing in sewage water and was quite grossed out. plus the amount of ppl/ kids in the pools above you, you really didn't trust that none of them where peeing in the water!! i really don't care how good they are for you. I will not try that again... I changed in the carpark, another interesting experience..every tried getting out of wet togs and trying to get dry while standing in the rain in a carpark while your hubby holds a towel around you to preserve some modesty?? Not easy but sooo funny. Sam got back to the car and jumped straight in and tried standing drying changing thing ....i think i did it the easier way???So we smelt ...really really bad. think rotten eggs. once we did the dressed thing we started applying sunscreen, just because it smells better. We had heard that you should wear old clothes since the smell wont come out. We sent ours for a swim in the pool with Daz when we got back to the villa and then through them in the wash. We are hoping the chlorine helps?>>
So what did we learn today>>>>????? If it smells bad dont swim in it!! If you think it looks pretty you still dont have to swim in it!! This is not my pic but picture it raining hard with twice asmany ppl....fun :)
